For sale here is a E.F. Payne Model 410 -- 9'6" 3/2 light salmon rod for a #8 line. The rod is in excellent+ condition, refinished by Don Schroeder and the rod has not been fished since. Don also built a third shorter 2" fighting butt for the rod. All sections are full length with slight sets in both tips.
Chestnut wraps with purple tipping. The winding check has purple and red tipping. Red agate stripping guide. Blued guides. Gently swelled butt. Ring hook keeper. The reverse half wells grip is 7 1/8" in length with only light soiling and very smooth save a few dents from being packed into the tube too tight. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat over a Spanish cedar spacer. The rod includes the butt cap, a 2" fighting butt, and a 5 1/2" fighting butt with hard rubber butt cap. The re-blued ferrules are size 11/64 and 19/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 7.35 oz. with the flush butt cap. The action is medium-fast. Includes the original bag and an original Payne tube with label fully intact although the tube appears to be for a smaller rod -- the fit of the rod and bag is quite tight inside the tube. The tube is also packed in a fine heavy canvas bag with a sleeve for the butt extensions.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
