A nice RD Taylor bamboo fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #4 line. 3.1 ounces. Medium to slow action. Well used condition with some grooving and flatting to the inner snake guides. The ferrule fits are good and the rod is very straight. There is a fracture between the second and third guide on one tip that will need a clear wrap before use. No other damage is apparent. The rod is wrapped amber for the main wraps with red edges and an extra band of black at the keeper and male ferrule. The cane is flamed browntone with the nodes in a two opposed pattern. The varnish is good but hazy in a few places from wear. The ferrules are Leonard-style step and retain most of the original oxidation. Carbide stripper. The rod is lettered "24-4-129" on the wrap flat. A Leonard style front cork check. 5" long slim cigar grip. The reel seat is a cap and ring over walnut with Bob's superb handmade hardware. There are some chips to the oxidation here and there and the butt cap is stamped "RD Taylor, Maker" in a cartouche. The rod is paired with a tan cloth bag and a brushed aluminum case with brass hardware.
