For sale here is a Brackett-era R.L. Winston 8' 3 1/8 oz. 2/2 bamboo rod. Serial #1781. The rod is in excellent original condition with no repairs and none needed. All sections are full length and straight. Transparent light amber wraps and burgundy tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, ferrules and tip-tops. Bright guides. The script remains bold and clear. Ring hook-keeper. Finely turned and knurled nickel silver checks. Western-style grip with a slender nose. The grip is soiled and very slightly ridged. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat with fine knurled edges and a cork spacer. The ferrules are size 12/64 with a perfect fit. The action is a smooth and medium-fast, perfectly suited for a double-taper 4 weight line. Excellent for precise and stealthy casts. The actual rod weight on our digital scale is 3.40 oz. Original bag and tube.
