For sale here we have a 8’6” 2/1 R.L. Winston bamboo fly rod made in San Francisco, CA. 4 1/2 oz. for a 5-6 line. Serial no. 7353. Made by Lew Stoner & Doug Merrick in 1951. Older style tan silk wraps with burgundy accents at ferrules, tip-tops, and hook keeper. Original "silky" blue bag and tube. Wells grip with bakelite reel seat. This is a superlative casting rod with the finer tips that Winston rods of the Lew Stoner era are known for. Excellent condition.
