For sale here is a R.L. Winston bamboo rod (Morgan/Brackett-era) -- 9' 2/2 6-7wt bamboo rod with a marked weight of 5 oz. Serial no. 1990. Excellent minus overalll condition. The rod has varnish wear (scratches and scrapes) throughout the butt section and all sections could use a good polish.
The rod features light to medium toned cane with goldenrod wraps and burgundy tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, ferrules, and tip-tops. The script remains clean and bold. The tips are numbered for convenience. The ring hook-keeper has been slightly bent out of shape. Western-style grip 6" in length with light soiling though there is a dent near the nose. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a burl walnut spacer. There is light wear to the rim of the butt cap. The ferrule fit is excellent. The rod weighs 5.40 oz. Medium-fast action. Original bag and tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
