A very nice Ron Kusse "Flamed Quad" bamboo fly rod, 6'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #9700P. The rod weighs 3.1 ounces on my scale (the tag states 2.5 but that could be the blank weight). Mint condition. The action is a strong DF. Superb varnish and the rod is pin straight. The cane is flamed with a two opposed node pattern. The main wraps are brown with black, red, and black edges at the keeper, ferrules, and top top. Black snake guides. Oxidized step ferrules. The grip is a 5 1/2" slim cigar that's been flatted to meet the bamboo. The reel seat is flatted and varnished mahogany with oxidized cap and ring hardware (the butt cap has a tiny bit of edgewear from shipping). The cap is stamped "Ron Kusse, Maker". The rod packs into a yellow poplin bag with a hang tag, and the tube is a black crackle painted aluminum with brass fittings and Ron's data sticker.
