A nice Ron Kusse "Special Taper 24" bamboo fly rod, 6', 2-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #3 line. Serial #9121. The rod weighs 2.5 ounces on my scale (slightly heavier than the hang tag listed weight of 2 ounces). Fast DF action. Mint, unfished condition with paper and gum strips on the grip, which is covered again in shrink plastic. The cane is lightly flamed. The main wraps are light tan with brown edges at the keeper and ferrules and three more bands of various colors at the keeper. The keeper is a black carbide SRMC #8 with black snakes the rest of the way. Oxidized swiss ferrules. The grip is 5" long and turned to a very slim cigar profile. The seat is a hand flatted and perfectly varnished curly maple with a lip up to the grip. The oxidized cap and ring is stamped "Ron Kusse, Maker". The rod packs into a tan cloth bag with a stiffener that runs 3/4 of the bag's length, and an all-brass rod tube with the data sticker from Ron stating that the model is a "Special 24".
