For sale here is one of Joe Saracione's stellar creations (made entirely in the USA) -- the Islamorada #8 lever action fly reel, designed for dealing with big bonefish, permit, tarpon, giant trevally, and more. This reel is set up for right hand retrieve and is in unfished condition.
The drag system is comprised of multiple carbon fiber discs and is controlled during the play of a fish with a repeatable lever action control arm. Further drag refinement is controlled by a preset “Range Set” knob. The drag washers were hand lapped to make the working surfaces perfectly flat providing ultra smooth drag performance. The multi-disc drag system provides tremendous strength and incredibly smooth performance from the first initial pull without any start-up torque to the longest sustained run. The reel's bearing is a large stainless steel, deep groove race, sealed ball bearing designed to take heavy radial and axial loads.
The reel features a large arbor spool with a large easy palming rim for added control. All components are made from aircraft quality 6061-T6 Aluminum Alloy and are anodized with a beautiful corrosion resistant finish while all other components are polished stainless steel. The handle grasp is made of delrin. The reel features a two-tone clicker system for incoming and outgoing sound and are convertible for LHW or RHW reeling.
All components were precision machined in Joe's shop in Sandy, Oregon.

Shipping Information
- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Other Terms
- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
