For sale here is a Scott Rod Co. Model G703-3 -- a 7' 3wt 3/1 graphite fly rod. Serial no. 202732. The rod is in mint condition. The Scott G-Series rods are widely hailed as some of the greatest graphite rods ever made and unlike many graphite rods they seem to be appreciating as years go by. This rod was built shortly before the start of the G2 series. The rod features an unsanded blank characteristic of Scott rods. Maroon guide wraps. The ferrules feature gray wraps with a maroon spiral pattern within. The winding check and tip-top are maroon with white tipping. Bright guides. U-shaped hook-keeper. The script on the rod written in bright red is as bold ad clean as the day it was written. The spigot ferrules fit together nice and tight as they should with a 1/4" gap to allow for wear over time. Cigar style grip with a rather slender nose. Down-locking sliding band reel seat with a mortised cork spacer. Both the grip and reel seat still have the protective shrink wrap in place. The rod weighs an even 2 oz. The action is classic medium to medium-fast that made the G rod series popular. Slower and with more feel than the broomsticks that companies are putting out today. Rod comes with original tube and bag.
