For sale here is an early San Francisco era, Scott Rod Co. "G" Model 904/2, 9' 4wt 2 pc. construction. Serial no. 12676. Made in mid-1980's. The rod is in excellent condition. Un-sanded blank, characteristic of Scott rods. Burgundy wraps with white and gray tipping at the winding check, ferrules, and tip-tops. Spigot ferrules for a more efficient transfer of energy. At the time, these ferrules were state of the art. Unfortunately, there is no longer a ferrule gap, the two sections seat flush against one another. Also, there are a few hairline cracks in the spigot, they will require attention at some point. Scott can easily remedy this as they still service the original "G" rods. U-shaped hook keeper. The original red script remains in excellent condition. Unique "G" series grip that is a reverse Ritz shape with a fine cork burl ring at the nose of the grip. Anodized black aluminum down-locking cap and ring reel seat over a cork spacer. The reel seat is in excellent+ condition showing only light wear on the butt cap. Rod weighs 2.35 oz. Includes replacement bag and the original S.F. labeled PowR-Ply tube. The original "90-4" sticker remains on the cap. The G904 was the first light line 9' rod and it created a revolution in the fly-fishing industry. The Scott G904 became the rod of choice for many trout fisherman. Over the years the G904 has garnered a cult-like following. The action is much slower than modern graphite rods and thus has an incredible amount of feel and excels at presenting dry flies to spooky trout. Don't miss out on the rod that changed the fly-fishing world in the late 1970's - The Scott G904.
