A very nice Thomas and Thomas Sextant bamboo fly rod, 8'5", 2-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #10 line. This is T&T's saltwater bamboo model. Serial #5856. The rod weighs 7.4 ounces on my scale. Mint condition. Very fast, powerful action. Light flamed cane with tiger striping and three up nodes. The rod is impregnated with a very high shine polish. The main wraps are green with garnet at the ferrules and garnet and black at the keeper. Black, yellow, black, and green at the female ferrule. The Swiss style ferrules have a collar on the male and are polished bright. The grip is 7" long, composed of 1/4" corks and turned to a full wells profile with a hidden pocket cap. The aluminum uplocking screw lock features a double locking nut and a milled port on the slide. The slide is stamped "Thomas + Thomas, Makers." A 2 1/4" cork fixed fighting butt is attached at the bottom. The rod comes with a nicely-turned nickel silver and cork ferrule plug and a tin of ferrule wax. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag and a black crackle paint tube with a brass collar, top, and bottom.
