A stunning Thomas and Thomas 25th Anniversary limited edition bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #3 line. This is serial #4 in the full set of 50. T&T made these in 1994 to commemorate their 25th year building rods, and utilized a few signature touches like the swelled butt and mortised seat, as well as a few unique features such as the cork in the mortised part of the seat. This rod appears to be unfished, and the only thing worth noting is that a little of the bluing on the female ferrule is faded, though this would not have been from use. Pleasing fast dry fly action. The rod is nice and straight and the ferrule fits are good. The medium colored cane features a tiger flamed pattern and is done in a three up node pattern configuration. "7 1/2 / #3 25th Anniversary No 4" is inked on the shaft above the keeper. Superb varnish. Translucent wraps with black tipping, and the ferrules are wrapped black with an additional black band. The bronze guides were handmade specifically for this rod. Oxidized Swiss style ferrules with the aforementioned fading on the female. The serial number is inked again on the tips just above the male ferrules. The grip is 5 1/2" and shaped to a medium cigar profile with an oxidized rear and front cork check. The reel seat is an oxidized uplocking cap and ring over a striking piece of tiger maple and has the inset part of the mortise made of cork. The ring is engraved with "25th Anniversary" and the cap features the T&T logo stamp. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag with a stiffener and a beautiful leather Giorgio Benechhi rod tube with the T&T logo embossed on the outside near the handle. A beautiful offering here, especially for the T&T aficionado!
