A Thomas and Thomas Hendrickson model bamboo fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Impregnated model. 3.8 ounces. Full flexing but quick action. Tan color cane done in a three up node pattern. The main wraps are maroon with black edges at the keeper, ferrules, and tip tops. Carbide stripper and black snake guides. The modest use this rod has seen is evidenced only by a small amount of brassing to the inner part of the snake guides. The polished ferrules are swiss with a collar on the males. There is a bit of edgewear to the varnish covering the lettering on the blank which is still intact but should have a go over at some point. The grip is 6" long and shaped to a heavily weight-forward blunt cigar. The varnished mortised cap and ring seat is unusual in that the mortise has been hard carved in a semi-circle at the top of the mortise. The spacer is varnished walnut. The cap and ring are polished bright but show a bit of tarnish. The butt cap is stamped with the roller die "Thomas and Thomas, Makers" in a cartouche. The rod bags into a tan cloth bag with a stiffener and an aluminum tube with a brass collar and top.
