Thomas and Thomas Paradigm Bamboo Fly Rod 7' 2/2 #4

1943

A Thomas and Thomas Paradigm bamboo fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #2805. Impregnated model. 3.1 ounces. Good used condition with some patina to the cap and ring. Medium fast DF action but full flexing. Tan oven temper cane done in a three up node pattern. Maroon wraps with no edges. Carbide stripper and dark snake guides. The ferrule fit is good with polished swiss-type ferrules with collars. The grip is a forward weighted blunt cigar that's 5" long. A nickel silver ring separates the grip from the cork reel seat which is flatted and uses a nickel silver cap and ring. No Thomas and Thomas makers stamp on the butt cap and no casting man on the rod shaft, however the writing sure looks like Tom Maxwell's. The cap and ring are polished. The original owner's name is inked on the rod shaft. The rod packs into a tan rod bag with a stiffener and an aluminum tube with a brass cap and ring.
