An excellent Thomas and Thomas Montana model fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #6 line. Serial #3655. 5.9 ounces. Appears to me to be in mint condition. Medium dry fly action for a #6 line to turn over a big fly on a long leader. Impregnated three-up node pattern construction, with oven tempered dark wheat straw can. Inscription on the wrap flat and the owner's name inscribed on the reverse flat. The wraps are a very light yellow with light brown edges on all the wraps, brown at the ferrules with a black edge at the keeper, ferrules, and tip tops. Swiss style ferrules have a collar at the males and are oxidized with the T&T logo stamped on them. The grip is a 6 1/2" long light sculpted in a western style with a hidden pocket cap. The reel seat is an aluminum uplocking screw lock with a slide of nickel silver and stamped "Thomas and Thomas, Makers". The spacer is a mortised and nicely varnished walnut. The nut is paired off from the slide and is aluminum. The bottom cap is incised with a target and is made of nickel silver. The rod packs in a tan cloth bag with a stiffener. The rod tube is brushed aluminum with a brass collar and top.
