For sale here is a Thomas & Thomas "Midge" bamboo rod -- 7' 2/2 for a 4 weight line. Serial no. 5729. Mint unused condition. Wonderful mottle-flamed cane, 3 X 3 node spacing. Transparent wraps with cinnamon tipping. Cinnamon wraps with clear, and black tipping at the winding check, ferrules, and tip-tops. Flawless varnish finish. Tips numbered. Blued hardware. Ring hook keeper. Size 11/64 ferrules with a good fit. Very handsome swelled butt, a common T&T characteristic. Nickel silver hexagonal winding check. Attractive 5" cigar grip comprised of 1/4" cork rings. There are slight handling marks in the grip. Elegantly machined cap and ring reel seat over a gorgeous walnut spacer. "Thomas & Thomas MAKERS" engraved in the butt cap. The rod weighs 3.20 oz. The action is on the faster side of medium-fast, an excellent small to medium sized stream dry-fly specialist. Original bag with stiffening dowell and T&T tag as well as original tube with brass fittings and label.
