For sale here is a Wright & McGill Granger Special Model 8040 -- 8' 3/2 for a 4 or 5 weight line. The rod is in very good plus condition with a few cosmetic issues. The rod is mostly original with some minor repair work to some wraps as well as one having been re-wrapped. There is also a hairline crack in one of the tip ferrules that extends from the shoulder to the start of the male slide. Classic ammoniated cane with "Granger green" silks. The script is slightly faded but still legible. The initials "LCB" are stamped into the cane at the butt under the varnish. The grip is ridged. Patented uplocking nickel silver reel seat functions smoothly as it should. There is only one very small dent on the backside of the seat. The ferrules are size 15/64 and 10/64 and the fit is great. The rod weighs 4 1/2 oz. The action is classic medium fast. A terrific all-around trout rod. The rod includes its original bag and tube. There is a small hole at the bottom of the butt section sleeve of the bag. This could easily be mended.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
