For sale here is an extremely scarce Lyle Dickerson Model 801610 bamboo rod. 8', 3/2 for a 5 weight line. Built in 1956. Excellent condition. All sections are full-length, straight, and of equal length. The rod weighs 4 1/2 oz. Payne-style grip with down-locking hardware and walnut insert. Oxidized nickel silver ferrules with oxidized guides. Classic 3x3 Dickerson node pattern. The ferrule fit is excellent. The grip shows some very minor ridging. The varnish is fine - no issues that need to be addressed, but it does show fishing use. The rod comes with its original bag and tube. Affixed on the tube is the original mailing label from Dickerson from 1956 addressed to the owner as scripted on the rod. Steve Blake re-wrapped a couple of guides on the mid-section, otherwise the rod remains in all original condition. The action is on the medium side of medium fast. An outstanding all-around trout rod in three-piece format!
The Model 801610 is not addressed in Stein & Schaaf's Dickerson book, so suffice it to say this model is extremely difficult to find.
