Dingley Fly Reel 3 1/2" - caged spool

For sale here is a 1920's vintage 3 1/2" caged spool fly reel made by WH Dingley. This highly sought after brass pin caged reel has an early fixed caliper check, which is nicely blued and is fairly neutral so you could wind this one in either direction. Stamped D3 on the frame and 3 on the foot. Correct original and un-filed smooth brass foot, with a slight bend on both sides but still fits in reel seats fine. No line grooves. Original ivorine handle spins freely. There is a very small amount of end play as you will find in 95% of these reels, but not enough to require repair. No wobble. As with most leaded Dingleys, the majority of the original leading remains on the reel.
