Dingley 3" Caged Spool Fly Reel - Westley Richards

For sale here is a very scarce Dingley 3" caged spool fly reel made for gunmaker Westley Richards of Birmingham, England. This highly sought after brass pin caged reel has an adjustable click/pawl drag with caliper spring. The reel also features the rare strap over tensioner adjuster and copper line guide with a monel? insert. Stamped "D3" inside with a 3 stamped on the foot and three dots on the cog wheel. The reel is right hand retrieve. Smooth brass foot that appears to have been very neatly thinned on one end. There are no cracks to the frame or spool. Original ivorine handle spins freely. No significant end play or wobble. The reel weighs 6.70 oz. and the reel foot measures 2.50". The majority of the original dark leaded finish remains. A stellar and very scarce Dingley!
