A nice EC Powell bamboo fly rod, 9', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for what feels to me like #6 or #7. Medium full flexing action. The rod weighs 4.9 ounces. It is straight overall and the ferrule fits are good (though one of the tips has a very slight outward sweep to it from the ferrule being mounted slightly offcenter). No inscription on the butt section. Light wheatstraw colored cane and the butt and mid are done in the typical two opposed node construction while the tips have a random spiralish-pattern. There are a fair number of minor glue lines and seams in the cane here and there though nothing open or posing any structural issue that I could see. Very light coat of varnish. The wrap colors are a slightly more tannish color brown than what I typically find on Powell rods and have the usual intermediates. Agate stripping guide. Heavily sculpted Powell grip which is 6 1/4" in length. Bright aluminum downlocking screwlock seat with a pocket in the end cap over the typical bakelite spacer. The seat has the circular Powell stamp. The rod packs into a light linen drawstring bag and the original Powell tube with the green sticker 85% intact.
