A Bernard Ramanauskas (Freestone / Eden Cane) bamboo fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #3 line. The rod weighs 3 ounces on my scale. "H703" is inked on the shaft, along with Bernard's highly stylized signature. Medium fast action. Mint condition, and the rod is arrow straight. Scarfed nodeless construction. Very nice varnish, and the wraps are translucent with a single wrap of maroon at the center of the mains, while the ferrules and tip tops are tipped in the same maroon. The wraps at the front cork check are translucent with a spiral wrap of maroon. Small agate stripper. Oxidized and highly truncated swiss style ferrules. The grip is close to a perfect cylinder with a very slight taper toward the front which ends with a thin band of composite cork. The reel seat is an oxidized minimalist cap and ring over a highly figured and stabilized burl. The end cap features the Freestone logo lightly stamped into it. The rod packs into a black bag with a stiffener and the Freestone logo embroidered on the top flap, and a black crackle painted tube with bass hardware.
