An Abercrombie & Fitch Triton bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #5 line. "Heddon" is stamped into the wood of the reel seat, and was presumably the manufacturer of this rod for A&F. It weighs 4 1/2 ounces on my scale. Used, but full length and the varnish is in overall good condition. Unfortunately, the grip has been cleaned, leaving it ridged. It has a very pleasing action. The cane is lightly flamed to a caramel color, with lighter nodes and a graceful swell that tapers up to the grip. The main wraps are red with gold edges. There are 3 red signatures and 2 gold. The ferrules are polished bright and the males are formed in one-piece and are seamless. The dark snake guides are high arch and high slant which I associate with the 1930s. The grip is a very generous 7" long and styled to a Western profile. The seat is a downlock screw lock with the aluminum nut anodized black while the barrel is polished. As noted, the wood spacer is stamped "Heddon" and something else which is just a bit too faint to read. The rod packs into a green cloth bag and an aluminum tube.
