A nice FE Thomas Special fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for what feels to me like a #4 line. 3.2 ounces. Medium fast feel for a rod with full intermediates. The condition is excellent restored with very good quality workmanship. Blonde cane with a random node pattern. The main wraps are yellow with red edges and yellow intermediates with a pattern of red and yellow signature wraps and windaways at the male ferrules. Agate stripper. The ferrules are polished bright. The keeper is pinned to the front cork check one flat right. The 5 1/2" long cork grip is fresh turned to a medium cigar but tapers down to the front cork check. The reel seat is a well varnished butternut slide band and pocket cap. The cap is stamped "FE Thomas, Special, Bangor, ME" in a cartouche. #7 stamped at the bottom of the cap. Original green silk bag but I'm not certain if the tube is original.
