A nice George Maurer Sweetwater Starlight Special bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 or #5. Serial #003. Mint condition. Fast action. Very light flame blond color cane in a three up node pattern. The main wraps are brown with black edges at the keeper and ferrules. Oxidized swiss-style ferrules. Carbide stripper and black snake guides. The grip is 6" long and turned to a large western profile. The reel seat is a commercial cap and ring with a mortised, stabilized west coast maple burl. Oxidized hardware. The rod bag has a stiffener and a "Sweetwater Rods" label sewn on. The aluminum tube is brown crackle painted with a brass collar, top, and bottom.
