Graywolf Rods - 8' 5wt 2pc Fiberglass Fly Rod

For sale here is a fiberglass -- 8' #5, 2 pieces -- by Shane Gray of Graywolf Rods. Made in 2011. Shane is very well known for his superlative finishing skills. The rod has been fished but remains in excellent condition.

The rod features an unsanded blank rolled from S-glass with transparent burgundy wraps and gold tipping at the winding check and ferrules. Bright guides. Ceramic stripper. Straight tapered cigar grip similar to a Garrison. The cork shows only the lightest of handling marks. Lemke down-locking nickel silver reel seat over a beautifully figured burl maple spacer. There is a light blemish on the spacer where the reel foot sits. The sleeve ferrule fits nice and tight as it should.  The rod weighs 2.80 oz. The action is on the faster side of medium-fast. Wonderfully smooth and crisp with plenty of authority when needed. The thin tip provides the angler with finesse and tippet protection. A terrific trout rod.
