For sale here is a scarce Hardy Palakona "The Deluxe Rod". Serial number E19898 made in 1930. Nine feet six inches, three sections with two tips. The rod is completely original and in good condition with a few issues. The varnish is beginning to sag and crack in places, a good polishing could help with this. There is a fishing set in one of the tips. All wraps are secure. Burgundy silks with full brown intermediates. Agate stripper and tip-tops. Unique guides that look like a cross between snake guides and spinning guides. Uplocking aluminum reel seat over bakelite. The grip is soiled and a chip is missing over the reel seat hood. Medium action for a 6wt line. Ferrule sizes 18/64 and 12/64 and the fit is very nice. Rod weighs 6 1/8 oz. Comes with its original Hardy bag and tube with Hardy tube cover. The rod could use a bit of work but overall it is a great example of a Hardy rod from this period.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
