For sale here is a very scarce prototype made by Hardy Bros - a 2 7/8" Perfect with agate line guide. Like new condition!Left hand retrieve only.

Before Hardy's entered the production phase of the Agate Perfect in Gunmetal Grey in 2009, they made three prototypes in silver anodizing (spitfire finish). All three of the reels were handmade by Charlie Norris, chief reel designer at that time. This reel was acquired directly from Charlie in Alnwick by a tackle dealer in Japan who helped Hardy's design some of the special edition reels, including the Bougle Lightweight and Bougle Agate reels with teardrop design in the early 2000s, and the Houghton Special limited edition reels.

There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
