A Hardy Salmon Palakona Deluxe bamboo fly rod, 9'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #7 line. The rod weighs 7.9 ounces on my scale. The rod appears to have been lawn cast. The rod is straight and the ferrule fits are good. The rod action is on the faster side. Wheatstraw oven tempered cane with slightly darker nodes in an approximate three up node pattern. Wraps are red with black edges and the snake guides are reverse twist chrome. The step ferrules are oxidized. The grip is 9" long and shaped to a full wells profile with a provision for a hidden pocket cap. The spacer is black plastic. The uplocking aluminum screwlock is stamped "Made by / Hardy's England". The rubber button screws out and a fighting butt is provided for in the bag. The ferrules have cork and aluminum finial style ferrule plugs. The rod bag is a green color twill and packs into a black plastic tube with a Hardy sticker on it.
