A nice JD Wager Presentation Quad fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. DF action. 6.2 ounces. A really nice job here by Jeff who has built one of the finer quads I've seen in a while. This rod was lawn cast and then put away. All of the ferrules, checks, and hardware are engraved. Rattan handle. The cane is a medium flame and the nodes are done in a two opposed pattern. The varnish is superb. The wraps are black with tiny black intermediates. The stripper is a dark grey or black agate. The snake guides are chrome. The four strips of the butt are inlaid into ebony to form the grip swell. A large front grip check is engraved in the same pattern as the ferrules and reel seat hardware. The grip is rattan and 6" long. The reel seat is varnished mortised ebony with an uplocking screw lock and a hidden pocket cap. The rod packs into a green cloth bag with a black painted brass top rod tube with Jeff's logo sticker and a cloth overbag. I have been told that this rod was done as a one-off request for a customer.
