A nice HL Leonard 48-H fly rod, 7', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #3/4 line. Serial #1387. This rod shows modest use, with very little wear to the inside of the snake guides. The cork grip shows some soiling bu there are no varnish defects or hook digs. Medium to medium slow action, the rod flexes all the way down to the small swell. Blonde cane with a three up node pattern construction. Tan or yellow wraps with black edges. The serial number dates this to about 1971. The keeper is 1 flat right and the serial # is 1 flat left. All hardware is polished. The 5" 10 cork grip is fairly large in the center and tapers down almost all the way to the front cork check. The reel seat is all cork with a nickel silver ring and pocket cap. The pocket cap is stamped "HLL, H.L. Leonard Rod Co, makers" and is engraved "PLG" on the hood. I am not sure if the bag is original but the brass topped rod tube certainly is.
