A classic Leonard 50 model fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tips. One tip is 1 3/4" short and has a replaced top-top. The hangtag states "Tournament 3 5/8 oz 50-6" although I would use a #5 and it may well support a #4. Very fine tips (.50" less varnish) with a #3 tip-top on the full-length tip. The top of the female ferrule has the patent date stamps. Burgundy wraps with small reverse twist guides. 12 cork medium cigar grip. Varnished butternut slide band seat, delicate small cap and ring. Butt cap stamped "The Leonard Rod, H.L. Leonard Rod Co" and "Reg US Pat. Off." The varnish is good to fair with some bag imprint but is not soft. Quite a serviceable and fishable rod. The guide and wrap at the butt ferrule have been accurately replaced. Ferrule fits are good. Smooth action. I find it hard to believe this is a #6 line and suspect the bag may have been switched at some point in the past.
