For sale here is an all-original green-wrapped Leonard Duracane SDF (Salmon Dry Fly) bamboo rod from the early 1970s Miramichi series of rods. 8'6 2/2 for a 8wt line. Serial #1479. The rod weighs 5 1/4 oz and the ferrules measure 15/64. Great ferrule fit. The rod has the Leonard up-locking aluminum reel seat with the full post-fire H.L. Leonard roll stamp. Also features a fixed 2" extension butt. Two Carboloy strippers, western-style grip, bright guides, conventional Leonard ferrules, ring style hook keeper. Original bag and replacement tube. Excellentcondition. One tip has a very slight fishing set.
The 1973 Leonard catalog states, "In keeping with today's trend toward lighter salmon and steelhead tackle and toward increased popularity of salt water fly fishing, Leonard offers these light yet powerful salmon dry-fly rods (SDF). These rods provide the necessary power to cast large bulky flies without fatigue, and you can now enjoy hours of "easy" fishing. Because of their use in or near salt water, all Leonard SDF rods are mounted with special hard chrome over stainless steel guides and tip-tops."

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
