For sale here is a H.L. Leonard Model 40 bamboo rod. 8 feet in length. Serial #3091 from the post-fire Simroe era. The rod weighs 3 7/8 oz. and is in excellent plus condition. Honey colored silks with cinnamon tipping. Reversed at the winding check, ferrules and tip-tops. Blonde cane characteristic of Leonards. Garrison style grip is very clean. Down-locking reel seat over Butternut. The rod exhibits medium action and casts well with a DT5 or WF6 lines. All sections are full-length and straight. The ferrules are 13/64 and the ferrule fit is excellent. Rod comes with original tube with label. Original pastel yellow bag and also a very fine leather tube cover in excellent condition.
