HL Leonard Model 50 Bamboo Rod (Pre-Fire) 8' 3/2 #5

For sale here is a pre-fire H.L. Leonard Model 50 8' 3/2 bamboo rod for a 5 weight line. The rod is in excellent original condition with one minor exception. The ferrule on the butt section has been rewrapped but done very professionally. The varnish shows some use marks and aging, but nothing of concern. All sections are full length and straight. Bronze wraps with full intermediates. Rust tipping at the winding check and ferrules. Blued guides. Clear agate stripping guide. Bronzed hook keeper. Sculpted nickel silver checks. Traditional cigar grip 5" in length. The grip has been cleaned and displays very slight ridging. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a mortised butternut spacer. Bullseye pattern on the bottom of the butt cap. The ferrules are size 10/64 and 15/64 with an excellent fit. Indented witness marks on the ferrule shoulders. The rod weighs 3 1/2 oz. The action is on the medium side of medium-fast and quite smooth. Fine tips for finesse and tippet protection. A classic all-around rod. Includes original bag and tube with brass fittings.
