For sale here is a pre-fire H.L. Leonard Model K -- 13' 3/2 Light Salmon/Grilse rod. The rod is in very good restored condition though it does have some issues. The midsection has a minor break/fracture just below the female ferrule. This can likely be repaired by a competent rodmaker. The ferrule snake guide is also missing. Lastly, the fighting butt has been replaced with a modern cork/foam butt that approximates the look of the original. All sections are full length.
Medium tempered cane with crimson wraps and reverse English-style guides. Large swelled butt. The grip and nickel silver screw-lock reel seat measure 22" from the winding check to the end of the fighting butt. The cork is only mildly soiled with a bit of light ridging. The screw-lock seat functions perfectly and is free of any aesthetic defects. The ferrules are size 24/64 and 15/64 with a nice tight fit. The rod weighs 17.80 oz. The 1953 William Mills catalog references these rods as having "a great delicacy of action for casting and playing a fish". Includes original tip-tube with tip bag as well as a replacement period correct bag and nylon covered plastic Cabelas tube.
