A nice Mario Wojnicki fly rod, 8' 1", 2-piece, 1-tip, 5-strip staggered ferrule prototype. 3.8 oz. Lettered "262V.6.92". The butt is 52" long and the tip 46" with no ferrule convention (a ferrule convention is where rod sections are slightly longer to make up for what is lost on rod assembly - e.g., with no ferrule convention and a male slide that is 1/2" long the same 1/2" is lost on assembly). Fast action for a #5 or #6 line (I would probably use a #6). Used condition. The butt is flamed and has heavily mottling and constructed in a semi-spiral node pattern. The tip is also flamed but without the mottling and is semi-spiral node pattern. As noted this rod is a 5 strip, pentagonal construction. Very short truncated swiss ferrules. The copper-colored wraps have some large blobs of epoxy with trapped air bubbles in them. The rod finish is some sort of rubbed oil and has a matte finish. The grip is a 6" long full wells. The reel seat is a flatted (cherry?) up sliding band with a hidden pocket cap under the heel of the grip. The reel seat has a crack down the middle of the seat. The bottom of the reel seat is a nicely done cork and cocobolo wood button. The rod comes packed in a heavy black cloth bag and an aluminum tube.
