For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Traveler 9' 4/1 6-7wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 32546, made in 1962. This is an extremely scarce model made by Orvis in the early 1960s and only offered for a few years. The Traveler model rod was the first of its kind to be intended especially for the traveling, fly-fishing businessman. Made originally with one tip section. The rod remains in excellent+ condition appearing to have been used sparingly. All sections are full-length, straight, and have never been repaired.
Moderately tempered cane with caramel colored wraps and blued guides. The script remains clean and bold free of any defects. U-shaped hook-keeper. Cigar grip 6 1/2" in length with only light soiling. Aluminum down-locking reel seat with a removable butt cap for a fighting butt. Unfortunately, the fighting butt has been lost. The ferrules are size 10/64, 15/64, and 19/64. The fit is excellent. The rod weighs 6.90 oz. Medium-fast action. Includes the original grey bag and original tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
