For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Wes Jordan 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 54384, made in the late 1960s - early 1970s. The rod is in excellent condition. There is some slight fraying at the upper wrap on the hook keeper. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features dark tempered cane with chestnut colored wraps. Bright guides. U-shaped hook keeper. The script is somewhat worn with 50-60% remaining. Along with the rod information, the original owner's name is written on the butt section and engraved on the end of the butt cap. Cigar style grip 6" in length. The grip is unique in that it not only has a thumb indentation but also one for the palm. The cork is soiled but free of other defects. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a walnut spacer. There are some slight marks on the seat from reel feet. Blued, step down ferrules are size 12/64 -- the fit is excellent. The rod weighs 3 7/8 oz.
The action is a lively medium-fast with plenty of feel. Though it is listed as a 6wt on the rod, a 5wt line is a better match. A terrific all-around trout rod from one of the great bamboo rod makers.
Includes original gray bag and tube with blue and gold foil label. The label is quite worn. There is also a small dent under the label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
