A very nice Paul Young "Midge" model bamboo fly rod, 6'3", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for what feels like a #4. Serial #4415. Made in the late 1960's during the Bob Summers era. The rod weighs 2.2 ounces on my scale. Fully original condition and has seen very light use with no cracking at the ferrules wraps, a tiny bit of wear to the snake guides, and some light riding and soiling to the grip. That's about it, the rod is otherwise in very good shape. The cane is flamed and very dark in places, and the nodes are two opposed. The wraps are gold/tan with a carbide stripper and black snake guides. The ferrule is a Super Z with the stamp and it retains 99% of the original oxidation. The grip is a forward weighted cigar 5 1/4" long and the all cork reel seat is flatted with two black anodized slide band rings and a cork heel to retain the rings. The rod comes with the original maroon bag and tube. A very fine example of one of Young's well liked models.
