A nice refinished 214 Payne fly rod, 9'6", 3-piece, 2-tip built for what feels to me like a #6 or #7 line. Medium fast action. A very nice refinish job and the rod looks practically uncast since then. Based on the specifications I'm 95% sure that this is a 214 model and have listed it as such. Wrapped brown with black edges and a band of yellow and a band of purple at the keeper and male ferrules. The ferrules are oxidized black as well as the front cork check. The keeper is one flat right. Agate stripper. The 6 1/2" western-style grip is somewhat eroded from use and cleaning. The reel seat is an uplocking screw lock with a walnut spacer. The screw nut is stamped "Payne" in the cartouche and underneath "Reg U.S. Pat Off". The reverse side is stamped "Sold by, Abercrombie & Fitch Co., New York". Good ferrule fit and very straight. Comes with the correct olive colored poplin bag without the original hang tag. The Payne tube has lost the felt in the brass cap.
