For sale here is a very rare bamboo rod made by RD (Bob) Taylor - a "pack rod", very nice to have in your arsenal, capable of catching large trout - 8 feet for a 5 or 6 weight. Four rod sections and one tip (as originally made). Custom Model 46-5/6W-377. Like-new condition but has been lawn cast several times so it has some minor soiling of the grip, which I can clean before shipping if you'd like. Nice full-working and powerful medium action. Elegantly swelled butt section. Straw-colored cane. Agate stripping guide on 2nd section. Handsome cap and ring over his apple wood spacer. Bright hardware and nickel silver ferrules. The silk wraps are apricot colored with red tipping. Original four compartment bag and tube with label. Rod has a labeled weight of 4.5 oz and has size 10/14/18 ferrules. Grip measures 5.6"
Bob Taylor has spent over 30 years in the rodmaking business, having worked for the Leonard Rod Co, Thomas & Thomas and now is considered in the top echelon of builders making rods under his own banner. Mr. Taylor donated this rod to the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum.
All proceeds from this rod sale go directly to the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM).
