A nice RK Bolt bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial #1904. The rod weighs 4.5 ounces on my scale. Medium-slow full flexing action. Lawn cast only condition. The cane is heavily flamed and done in a two-opposed node configuration. Nice varnish. The rod is wrapped in the characteristic brown/yellow Howells combination with the ferrules overwrapped as well. The rod sports a hook keeper and a carbide stripper, with bronzed snakes and chrome tip tops. The female ferrules have Bob's makers mark stamped on the welt and come with knurled brass-and-cork ferrule plugs. The 6" grip is shaped to a full wells profile with a hidden pocket cap in the heel. The reel seat is an aluminum uplocking screwlock over a handsome piece of mortised and varnished zebrawood. The ring has Bob's maker stamp on it as well. The rod packs into an orange bag and an aluminum tube with gold-anodized aluminum fittings as well as the data sticker affixed to the outside.
