A 6'3" Ron Kusse fly rod, his Elfin model, 2-piece, 2-tip built for a #4 line. Serial #0345. The hanging tag has the wight as 1 7/8 oz however my scale has it as 2.5 oz. Medium fast action. It has been lightly used with some soiling to the 4 1/2" medium cigar grip. The impregnated cane is brown toned with dark patches from a hot iron. Nodes are three up and are very grainy typical of belt sanding. Wraps are brown with one heavy coat of rod epoxy. The snake guides appear to be black stainless steel. This rod is outfitted with oxidized and truncated swiss ferrules with a tiny "Kusse" stamp in cartouche on the female ferrule. The slide band reel seat is mahogany with a wood lip meeting the last cork of the grip. There is a reel foot impression on the seat. The nickel silver cap and ring are oxidized and the cap has "the Elfin" in cartouche on the wrap flat and "Ron Kusse, Maker" on the reverse. The light tan bag has a stiffener and a hangtag. Black crackle paint tube with aluminum top and collar. Ferrule fit is good and the rod is straight.
