This copy by Paul Schmookler is a splendid one indeed. Released in 1993, this limited edition copy (#299 of 300) is signed by the author and bound in Morocco leather with beautiful marbled boards, gilt edges, and enclosed in a tan slipcase. Mint condition. Inside are a number of exquisite color plates of flies devised by Major John Traherne and tied by Schmookler himself. Traherne was one of the most revered salmon anglers of the 19th century, a pioneer of the sport whose contributions and knowledge frequented the Fishing Gazette in articles by George Kelson. Preface written by Paul Schmookler, introduction by David Zincavage, and photography by Ingrid Sils. Published by The Complete Sportsman, Millis Massachusetts.
