A superb Saracione Mark IV "Alta" salmon reel, 4 3/4" in diameter and set up for RHW. This is the largest model that Joe made at the request of Norwegian salmon anglers. All silver model that is clear anodized throughout. 1 5/32" spool width. This is also the 2:1 multiplier version that Joe made and weighs 21.7 ounces. Unfished condition, with one tiny nick on the reel foot which must have come from handling or bumping it into something, as it has not been on a rod. Designed for the largest spey rods in the 15 to 18 foot range, this model can accommodate well over 300 yards of backing. The real boasts a 10 position disc drag and I would like to meet the fish that could best the reel on its strongest setting. Serial number "1960" is stamped into the side of the foot. The real packs into the original neoprene case and includes the original paperwork and box from Joe's shop. For an angler pursuing the largest trophy salmon it would be hard to top this.
