An excellent Scott bamboo fly rod, 7'2", 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #3 line. Serial #0023. In mint condition, on the fast side of medium. Flamed cane with a 2 up node pattern. Transparent main guide wraps with black edges. All black at the female ferrules. The keeper wrap is black with a band of yellow, brown, and maroon. The same is repeated at the male ferrules. The ferrules are oxidized and of a truncated step design. Ferrule fits are good. Agate stripper. Lettered 3 flats left "Scott SC" and 2 flats left "7'2" 3 line #0023". The varnish finish is top of the line. The grip is 5 1/2" long, 11 corks in the style of a full wells. An interesting touch is a thin ring of composite cork on the first cork of the grip. The reel seat is an upsliding band and hidden pocket cap correctly radiused to hold the reel securely. The ring and bottom cap are oxidized and sport a rope knurl. The mortised wood spacer appears to be a stabilized redwood burl. Comes in a brown cloth bag with a stiffener and the Scott logo. The rod tube is painted grey and has the Scott logo repeated on the tube. The tube has a brass collar and has the Scott logo engraved on the top. The rod includes aluminum and cork ferrule plugs.
