For sale here is a very early and rather rare Scott PowR-Ply F70 - 7'0" 3wt 2 pc. fiberglass fly rod. Serial no. 1342. Made in the mid-1970's. The rod is in excellent condition. Classic yellow unsanded glass blank with dark gold wraps. The script remains clean and bold and was more than likely written by Harry Wilson himself. Typical reverse Ritz grip with the varnished burled cork nose. The grip is moderately soiled but free of any major defect. Gold anodized cap and ring reel seat over a mortised cork spacer. The seat is in wonderful condition save a bit of wear around the rim of the butt cap. The spigot ferrule fits nice and tight with a slight gap to allow for wear. The rod weighs a lean 2.15 oz. The action is a smooth and swift medium-fast dry-fly with enough power in the butt for longer casts, wind, or (fingers crossed) a bigger fish. The rod also possesses all the finesse and feel that one looks for in a glass rod. Includes replacement bag and tube. Don't miss out on this historic Scott rod that helped to put them on the map.
