For sale here is an early Scott yellow glass fiberglass rod - 8'5" 5wt 2 pc. Made in San Francisco, CA. The rod is in excellent condition though it does show some wear. The rod features an unsanded, golden-yellow blank. The wraps are a goldenrod color with burgundy tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, ferrules, and tip-top. Bright guides, ceramic stripping guides. Hook keeper. Straight taper cigar grip with a ring of burl cork at the top and a gold anodized cap and ring reel seat with cork spacer, a look typical of most early Scott rods. Grip is lightly soiled. Spigot ferrules, which help to improve the transfer of energy through the sections. The ferrules fit together nice and tight as they should with a 1/4" gap between sections. Red witness marks for easy alignment. The rod has a wonderfully smooth medium-fast, glass action, delicate tip with some authority in the butt. A terrific all-around trout rod, and a bit longer than most glass rods were made. This aids greatly in better drifts and mending. The rod weighs 3.45 oz. Includes bag and original labeled tube.
