For sale here is a beautiful F.E. Thomas Browntone Special 8' bamboo rods with two sections and two tips. "EF32" stamped on the butt cap. Made in 1947. The rod is in excellent restored condition. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features dark browntone cane with chestnut wraps. Blued hardware throughout. Reverse twist English-style guides. Handsome swelled butt. Nickel silver winding check with the hook keeper attached. The cigar grip is 5" in length with moderate soiling and a bit of light ridging. There is also a shallow dent near the bottom of the grip. Classic cap and ring reel seat over a cork spacer. The stamp on the butt cap reads:

The step-down ferrules have a pleasing fit. The rod weighs 3.70 oz. with medium-fast dry fly action. Feels best suited for a 4 or 5 weight line. A superb casting FET Browntone.
